About Jamaica Wine House

A narrow Victorian bar built where London's first coffee house opened in 1652; Samuel Pepys was an early customer.

Tucked down an alley off Cornhill, the Jamaica Wine House stands on the site of Pasqua Rosée's Head, the coffee house that introduced London to coffee in 1652 and counted Samuel Pepys among its early regulars. The current building, put up in 1885, has kept its art nouveau touches and an old coffee-roasting cooker as a nod to its origins. Regulars still call it 'The Jampot'.

On tap

Cask ales and a broad wine list served from a compact Victorian bar.

Food
