About The Jugged Hare
A grand Grade II gastropub on the old Whitbread Brewery site, praised for its cooking since reopening in 2012.
The Jugged Hare stands on Chiswell Street, part of the former Whitbread Brewery complex, on a site that has carried a pub since the 18th century. It closed in 2008 during redevelopment and reopened in 2012 under its current name, drawing praise from critics including The Times's Giles Coren. The Grade II-listed interior runs to oak floors, red leather seating and a fair amount of taxidermy.
On tap
A serious wine list alongside cask ale.
Food
A proper gastropub kitchen — game features often, in keeping with the name.
