About The Kerfield Arms
An independent gastropub on Grove Lane, reopened in April 2025 as the Kerfield Arms after refurbishment, having traded for years as the Crooked Well.
For over a decade this corner site on Grove Lane was known as the Crooked Well, a well-regarded neighbourhood gastropub with a loyal following for its relaxed dining room and decent cask ale. It closed for several months' refurbishment and reopened in April 2025 under new management as the Kerfield Arms, keeping the same basic formula — confident, unfussy cooking served in a proper pub setting — while refreshing the interior and drinks range. It remains an independent operation rather than part of a wider group, and continues to draw diners from across Camberwell and neighbouring Peckham.
