About The Tamil Crown
Previously known as The Charles Lamb, this Victorian neighbourhood pub reopened in late 2023 as The Tamil Crown, sibling to the already well-known Tamil Prince.
On a residential corner near Duncan Street, this Victorian pub operated for years as The Charles Lamb before reopening as The Tamil Crown. It keeps the structure and feel of a corner pub — wooden bar, tightly packed tables, tall windows — but the kitchen now turns towards the flavours of South India and Sri Lanka, run by the same team behind the Tamil Prince.
On tap
A wine and cocktail list built to go with spiced food, plus beer.
Food
Tamil and Sri Lankan cooking — curries, dosas and spiced dishes — that has turned the pub into a food destination.
