About The Bell
A Grade II-listed pub that survived the Great Fire and decades of redevelopment pressure, long run by one long-serving landlady.
The Bell is a Grade II-listed survivor near Cannon Street station, its building predating much of the surrounding postwar redevelopment. For four decades it was run by the same landlady, Betty Jeskey, who retired in 2004 at the age of 86. It remains a busy lunchtime spot for the Cannon Street office crowd.
On tap
