About The Black Horse

A Wood Street pub that reopened in June 2026 under a group of former regulars, after closing in 2025, with seven beers on draught and a back garden.

The Black Horse closed suddenly in September 2025 and stood empty until a group of former regulars, trading as Barnet Community Pubs Ltd, took a one-year tenancy from Star Pubs and reopened it in the last week of June 2026. It is listed as an Asset of Community Value. Behind the bar there is a split garden, with a gated, child-friendly section at the back, and since reopening the pub has hosted charity fundraisers and an all-day music event.

On tap

Seven beers on draught, four of them cask, alongside the usual wines and spirits.

Food

A new kitchen, with a large rotisserie, was being fitted over the summer; check with the pub for current food times.
