About Torch
A Greene King Flaming Grill pub on Bridge Road in Wembley Park, built in 1956 on the site of a pub called the Fox and named after the Olympic torch from the 1948 London Games.
The Torch stands on Bridge Road, a short walk from Wembley Stadium, built in 1956 on the site of an earlier pub called the Fox and named for the Olympic torch carried through the 1948 London Games, which finished at the old Empire Stadium nearby. A 2019 refurbishment opened up much of the layout, adding a dedicated gin bar and an outdoor matchday bar to handle the crowds that pass through on event days, while photographs of old Wembley on the walls keep a link to the site's history. It now runs as a Greene King Flaming Grill pub, geared as much towards feeding and watering fans before kick-off as towards a quiet weekday pint.
