About Bread Street Kitchen & Bar
A former dockmaster's house on the Limehouse riverside — for years Gordon Ramsay's gastropub The Narrow — reopened in late 2022 as Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, an all-day dining restaurant with a conservatory and terrace looking directly across the Thames toward Rotherhithe.
The building at the mouth of Limehouse Basin was originally a dockmaster's house and traded for years as The Narrow, Gordon Ramsay's first gastropub, opened in 2007. In late 2022, after a four-month refurbishment, it reopened under the Bread Street Kitchen banner as Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, joining the wider Bread Street Kitchen chain with a menu built around Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes, including Beef Wellington and fish & chips alongside globally inspired seasonal plates. The refit added a new conservatory, but kept the building's best asset: a riverside terrace with direct views across the Thames toward Rotherhithe and, further along, Canary Wharf, still one of the better-positioned stops for a drink or meal along the Thames Path. It now leans more restaurant than pub — CAMRA notes alcohol is served mainly alongside food rather than as a stand-alone drinking spot.
