About Builders Arms
A Cubitt House gastropub said to have been built to house the workmen constructing the nearby St Luke's Church, now known for salt-aged steaks.
Local tradition holds that the Builders Arms takes its name from a rather literal origin story: a pub built to house and refresh the labourers constructing nearby St Luke's Church. Today, tucked just behind the King's Road, it's one of the Cubitt House group's flagship gastropubs, its fireplace-warmed bar and comfortable dining room turning out a blackboard menu of British classics headlined by salt-aged steaks and a well-loved fish pie, with a popular outdoor terrace for warmer months.
On tap
Cask ale and a Cubitt House wine list built around British producers.
Food
Blackboard British classics including salt-aged steaks, fish pie and Sunday roasts.
