About McGlynn's

An Irish bar on Willesden Lane, in a building whose exterior still reads as a pub despite a heavily altered interior, filled with Irish memorabilia and racing on the screens.

McGlynn's occupies a building on Willesden Lane that, judging by its exterior, was clearly built as a pub, though the interior has been substantially remodelled and has traded under several names over the years, including Father Ted's and the Calcott Tavern, before settling on its current Irish identity. Inside, the front room is carpeted and the back bare-boarded, furnished with plain tables and red banquettes, and the walls carry a scattering of Irish memorabilia, among them a framed print of Croke Park and number plates bearing the names of Irish counties. Horse racing dominates the screens more than football, and the pub keeps no cask ale and offers no food, trading purely as a drinking room for the Irish community along Willesden Lane.
