About The Pineapple
A Victorian pub from 1868 tucked away on a residential Kentish Town street, saved from conversion into flats by a local campaign in 2001.
The Pineapple is one of those side-street pubs that Kentish Town locals simply refuse to let disappear: in 2001 a grassroots campaign stopped the building, protected for its historic value, from being turned into housing. It dates from 1868 and keeps a simple, welcoming interior, with the unfussy, unpretentious feel of a neighbourhood pub. It's much loved by its community, with a loyal crowd mixing long-time locals and newcomers to the area. It still runs independently, with no ties to the big pub chains.
On tap
A good selection of draught beers, with particular attention to traditional English ale.
Food
A simple pub food offer, secondary to the neighbourhood atmosphere and the bar.
