About The Rose and Crown
Built in 1930-32 to a design by Truman's Brewery's in-house architect A. E. Sewell, and Grade II listed as a fine, unusually intact example of the style.
The Rose and Crown was built in 1930-32 for Truman’s Brewery, designed by the firm’s in-house architect A. E. Sewell, and was Grade II listed in 2015 as a rare, well-preserved example of an inter-war Truman’s pub. Inside it plays the part of a classic Church Street local — a log fire in winter, guesthouse rooms upstairs, and a straightforward menu that leans on Sunday roasts.
On tap
A traditional bitter-and-lager range.
Food
Sunday roasts and classic pub grub; rooms available upstairs.
