About The Elderfield
A quiet, wood-panelled Victorian corner pub — a Charrington’s tied house in its earlier life — taken over in late 2025 by the independent team behind the Spurstowe Arms.
The Elderfield is a Victorian corner pub dating to around 1869, with a 1935 refit that left behind two-thirds-height ribbed lightwood panelling, a curved bar and parquet flooring — enough to earn it a CAMRA National Inventory One Star listing. It was a Charrington’s tied house in its earlier years and, more recently, a quiet community local known for its quiz nights. In late November 2025 it was taken over by owner Naomi Rogers and the independent team already behind the nearby Spurstowe Arms, who are steering it toward a more considered orange-wine-and-cider list.
