About The Flask
A pub with a Victorian façade on a Hampstead pedestrian street, with the classic etched-glass screen that once separated the 'public' bar from the 'private' one.
Rebuilt in 1874 on the site of an earlier building that bottled mineral water from Hampstead's springs (hence the name 'Flask'), the pub was bought by the Young's brewery in 1904 and remains in its hands. Its late-Victorian interior, with the classic wood-and-frosted-glass divide between rooms, has earned it CAMRA recognition as a protected historic pub interior. It's a stone's throw from Hampstead Heath and the tube, so it mixes long-time local regulars with visitors strolling along Flask Walk. Its terrace on the pedestrian street is one of the liveliest in the area on summer evenings.
On tap
Young's beers (Bitter, London Special) on cask, plus a selection of wines and classic pub cocktails.
Food
A modern British gastropub menu, with classics like fish and chips and burgers alongside seasonal dishes.
