About The White Hart
A traditional backstreet pub among old workers’ cottages a few minutes from Waterloo, with its original Wenlock Brewery tiling uncovered in 2019.
The White Hart is tucked away on Cornwall Road, among some of the oldest workers’ cottages in London and a short walk from Waterloo and Waterloo East stations. Pub records show it open by 1848, and it was once a Wenlock Brewery house: the brewery’s tiled fascia stayed hidden behind modern signs until a 2019 refurbishment by Mitchells & Butlers uncovered it. Inside there is a circular bar with separate seating areas and a chalkboard of cask beers, and the pub is run under M&B’s Castle brand. Food is a strong suit, and CAMRA singles out its Saturday brunch and Sunday lunches.
On tap
Timothy Taylor Landlord and rotating guest cask ales with a Cask Marque rating, plus craft beer.
Food
Classic pub dishes such as fish and chips and burgers, with Saturday brunch and Sunday roasts.
