About Williamson's Tavern
A tavern reached through a gated court off Bow Lane, on the site of a former Lord Mayor's residence, said to be haunted by a resident ghost.
Down a gated court off Bow Lane, Williamson's Tavern occupies one of the City's oldest licensed sites, dating largely to the rebuilding after the Great Fire. The site once housed the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and tradition holds that King William III and Queen Mary dined here. Staff have long reported a resident poltergeist, nicknamed Martha.
