About Ye Olde Mitre

A Greene King house on the site of a 1600s inn, with a wide changing-guest-ale line-up and a back garden.

Ye Olde Mitre has been serving Barnet’s High Street since the seventeenth century, one of a handful of survivors from the town’s coaching-inn era. Today it’s run by Greene King but keeps an unusually serious range of real ale for a chain pub — Adnams, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Tring alongside several rotating guests and at least one real cider. It’s dog-friendly, has a back garden, and stays open later than most of its neighbours on weekend nights.

On tap

Adnams Southwold, Greene King Abbot, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Tring Side Pocket for a Toad on rotation, plus four changing guest ales and a real cider.

Food

Pub classics served through the day, kitchen open into the evening.
