About Grand Junction Arms

A majestic Victorian pub built in 1861 on the Grand Union Canal at the Harlesden/Park Royal border, run by Young's, with a sprawling garden that backs onto the towpath.

The Grand Junction Arms takes its name from the Grand Junction Canal, now part of the Grand Union Canal network, which runs past its back garden at the point where Acton Lane crosses the water on the edge of Harlesden and Park Royal. Built in 1861 on the site of an earlier beer house, it has grown into one of Young's biggest north London outposts, prized above all for its garden, regularly billed as the largest pub garden in north London, which runs down to the towpath and hosts an outdoor Burger Shack, live sport on big screens and year-round events. It draws a wide catchment on a sunny afternoon, from dog walkers off the canal path to fans heading to or from Wembley Stadium a few miles up the road, and remains one of the few Brent pubs where the pint comes with a proper view of moored narrowboats.
