About Holy Tavern
A small, dark-timbered Clerkenwell pub in a Grade II-listed building, formerly the Jerusalem Tavern and now independently run.
Holy Tavern occupies a Grade II-listed building on Britton Street, with an early nineteenth-century shopfront on a house that CAMRA dates to 1719. It became a pub only in 1996, when St Peter's Brewery opened it as the Jerusalem Tavern and deliberately recreated an eighteenth-century drinking house: three small rooms with bare boards and wooden walls, and a real fire. It reopened under its present name in 2022 and is listed as an Asset of Community Value. Dogs are welcome, and children can come in until 6pm.
On tap
Three changing cask ales, typically from Southwark Brewing and St Peter's.
Food
Food is served; children are welcome until 6pm.
