About The Nag's Head
A characterful early-Victorian free house run by a former guardsman since 1991, famous for its house rules — including a ban on mobile phones.
Set on a quiet cobbled mews street just off Knightsbridge, the Nag's Head has operated as an independent free house since 1991, when former Coldstream Guardsman and actor Kevin Moran took it over and shaped it into one of Belgravia's most distinctive locals. It claims the lowest bar counter in London, fitted with an antique pewter beer engine, and enforces house rules — no mobile phones, coats to be hung up — that regulars treat as part of the charm. Military and theatrical memorabilia line the walls of what remains a determinedly old-fashioned drinking room.
On tap
A traditional, well-kept range of cask ales and classic pub drinks.
Food
Homemade pub classics, served in a room that discourages lingering over a laptop.
