About Shacklewell Arms
A live-music pub behind a plain Dalston frontage, run by gig promoters since 2011 — Haim and Beabadoobee played early sets here, and Black Mirror once used it as a filming location.
The building dates to the 1870s as the Green Man, but its more recent history is what people remember: from the late 1980s into the early 2010s it was a Saint Lucian community pub, before promoters Tom Baker (of the gig series Eat Your Own Ears) and Dan Crouch (also behind Camden’s Lock Tavern) relaunched it as a 200-capacity indie and punk venue in 2011. Haim and Beabadoobee both played early shows on its stage, and an episode of Black Mirror was shot here.
On tap
A solid craft beer selection alongside the standard lager taps.
Food
No kitchen; it is a venue first, with a fairy-lit courtyard for between sets.
