About The Railway Tavern
An independently run traditional pub on Crouch End Hill, named for the long-closed Crouch End railway station and the abandoned line beside it, now the Parkland Walk nature trail.
The pub takes its name from Crouch End's derelict railway station, whose overgrown platforms are still visible along the Parkland Walk, the disused railway line turned nature trail that runs right past the door. Inside, vintage railway paraphernalia lines the walls, there's a working open fire for winter, and a vintage bar skittles set gives regulars something to do between pints. It's leased from Mitchells & Butlers by an independent operator rather than tied to a chain identity, and it functions as a natural stopping point for walkers coming off the Parkland Walk, with a small beer garden extending the appeal into summer.
