About White Horse
One of the older licensed buildings on Brixton Hill, dating to the early 18th century, now run as a candle-lit DJ pub with fortnightly acoustic sets and Wednesday film nights.
The White Horse occupies one of the oldest licensed buildings on Brixton Hill, with roots reaching back to the early 18th century, and keeps a suitably atmospheric interior of candle-lit tables, exposed brick and vintage advertising posters. Its programme today leans towards DJ nights, fortnightly Sunday acoustic sessions and Wednesday film screenings, giving an old building a genuinely current social life rather than trading purely on nostalgia. It sits well up Brixton Hill, drawing more of a local crowd than the pubs clustered around the tube and market at the bottom of the hill.
