About The Woolpack
A Young’s-owned pub on Bermondsey Street with a large, plant-filled beer garden that’s among the most popular outdoor drinking spots in the area.
The Woolpack takes its name from the wool and leather trades that once dominated Bermondsey, and it has traded on this stretch of Bermondsey Street for well over a century, long before the street's transformation into a strip of galleries, restaurants and the White Cube gallery just up the road. Owned by Young's, it keeps a fairly traditional pub interior at the front but the real draw is out back: a sizeable, heavily planted garden that fills up fast on any dry evening and has become one of the go-to outdoor spots for the Bermondsey Beer Mile crowd on a Saturday afternoon crawl.
