About The Beehive
A Grade II-listed 1927 'Brewer's Tudor' pub on Stoneleigh Road, built to replace an earlier Victorian pub, and now operated by Camden Bars.
The current building went up in 1927, replacing an earlier Victorian pub on the same Stoneleigh Road site, in the mock-Tudor style favoured by inter-war brewers and now generally known as 'Brewer's Tudor.' It holds Grade II listed status as a rare surviving example of the interior of a medium-sized 1920s 'improved' pub, retaining Tudor-style panelling to picture-rail height, an L-shaped panelled counter in the public bar, and stained-glass door signs. Its most unusual feature is a numbering system applied to each internal door, reportedly installed for historic Customs & Excise control purposes and considered one of very few examples of its kind in a British pub. Now run by Camden Bars, it functions as a busy, sports-focused local for the surrounding Tottenham streets, its listed interior intact behind a fairly ordinary modern pub operation.
