About The High Cross
A tiny independent micropub converted from a 1920s public convenience on Tottenham High Road, opened in 2018 with part-funding from a Mayor of London high-street regeneration scheme.
The High Cross occupies former 1920s public conveniences on Tottenham High Road, a conversion completed in early 2018 with part-funding from a Mayor of London regeneration project aimed at bringing life back to the area around the historic Tottenham High Cross monument the pub is named after. The original tiling and vintage signage have been kept deliberately visible, with wooden flooring and candlelit tables added to soften the space, which holds around 25 people plus a few dogs. Ten taps are crammed onto the corner bar, majoring on London breweries, alongside a small but carefully chosen spirits list. The kitchen runs out of what was once a cleaner's cupboard, turning out a small daily menu that includes a Sunday roast rated among the best in the area — an improbable amount of ambition packed into a genuinely tiny building.
On tap
Ten rotating taps of mostly London craft beer, plus a curated spirits and wine list
Food
A small daily-changing menu cooked in a former cleaner's cupboard, including a well-regarded Sunday roast
